This Sunday we continued our series “Carry-On Only,” and this week’s message is one that likely hit close to home for all of us.

​

Life is a journey, and whenever we go on a journey we pack luggage. We take things with us that we think we’ll need. But as we’ve been talking about in this series, not everything we pick up along the way was ever meant to come with us.

This week we looked at something that can be good in itself, but can quickly become baggage when we let it take the wrong place in our lives: our goals.

​

We all have dreams, ambitions, plans, and things we want to accomplish. There’s nothing wrong with having goals. But what happens when the thing we’re pursuing begins to become more important than who God is calling us to become?

That’s the question we wrestled with together in this sermon. We unpacked what it looks like to pursue what God has placed in front of us without allowing our goals to become the thing that leads us.
